Tell Me

1)    Where and when does the story take place? How does the story start?
The story starts with that Investigator Grace McColl arrives to the crime scene where a sixteen years old girl has been murdered. The whole story takes place at this crime scene with the victim and Grace McColl.

2)    Describe the setting
The place where the victim has been murdered was in a park on some stone steps in front of the band shelter. Grace McColl saw in the victims’ eyes that they were turned in the rhododendron direction. Maybe it was because something still was luring at her from the rhododendron.

3)    What is the plot of the story?
The plot of the story is that they had found a dead body in a park. In the beginning you don’t really understand the whole scene where Grace McColl is talking to the person who has been raped. It is first in the end of the story that you actually understand it. It is just Grace McColl who is thinking and has a lot of imaginations for what have happened.

4)    Characterize the victim/the girl. What is her background?
The girl is sixteen years old. Her parents haven’t had much influence in her childhood and up growing. The mother didn’t had that much money therefore she sold the girl, who is the victim, as a hooker. The mother got all the money. There were a man who made the girl trust him but he was just like all the other men and you could easily see all the times she had been beaten.

5)    How would you characterize Grace McDoll's method of investigation?
I think that it’s a natural way to find clues in a crime, the way Grace McColl does it. Of course an investigator makes a lot of thoughts what could have happened in her mind.

6)    What do we get to know about the girl's boyfriend?
The girl says that he loves her, but that’s probably not true.

7)    How and where does the real dialogue take place?
In the end of the story Grace McColl is saying: “"The dead always talk to me in the end". That might mean that the whole conversation between the girl and Grace was an imagination and that the gril is dead.

Corrections to "Prejudice"

There were new people new teachers, everything were changed in the moment i started

Example if a immigrant boy make vandalism

I have learned that if the students think in a certain way, example at me, then the teacher easily can change mind about a person and then his prejudices are changed.
- I have learned, that if you change your mind about a person, then your prejudices against the person will change as well.

If a danish girl and a immigrant girl both wanted the same job, is it the danish girl who haves the greatest chances

Summary and questions of the Danish article: "Danmark har overhalet U.S.A i racisme."

It's about a guy called Jacob Holdt who is a danish photographer. He has made several fotoshows. His primary focus is prejudice and racism. Jacob made a ghetto show and right after he met Anne Bech. He traveled to USA and got threatened by two afro-americans who had a gun and they stole all his money. He wanted to meet the members of the Ku-Klux clan.  He wanted a wider view on the term "racism". What were their opinion, and why do they hate black people so much? That was one of the questions he wanted to get an answer on.
If you want to make a difference in the clan look at their past and history. What made them join these different type of clans? And why? Don't just yell at them, try to walk in their shoes and you'll see a different side of the history He finish his report off with an example he experienced himself. It was a small girl who said to her mom: "Look mom, a dane is approaching!"

- Who become members of groups like the KKK according to Jacob Holdt? Do you agree?
According to Jacob Holdt it's people who hungers for love, atention and care.
We agree with Jacob Holdt and think those people need something to spent their time on, something to wake up to. The clan is like a home for them, and the members are like their family.

- Why does Jacob Holdt become a member of the KKK?
He meets a student and then she wants him to talk about racism, so he meets the leader of the ku klux clan. Jeff Barry is the leader of the ku klux clan.

- Comment on the headline of the article
We think that Denmark versus America is a tough call. In our opinion we still think America is worse than us when it comes to racism. You often see gangs and groups only consisting of black people. It's very typical that groups in America are split up, the black group and the white group. We think it's a lot worse in America. They black people usually get harder punishments than white people. And they are a lot easier suied for doing illegal things. We don't think that is the case in America. So we think that America is worse than Denmark.

- Do you see racism as a big problem in the Danish society?
I don't really see racism as a big problem in Denmark, because I don't see it very oftenI think i have seen it a few times, but thats all. When i saw it, it was at a football game, where one said "make sure the nigger doesn't get the ball."

Describe Boyd’s family:
his mother is home taking care of the children. His father is working in a factory. His sister works instead of his mother, she wants to be a teacher.
What does Mrs. Wilson assume about Boyd and his family?
She thinks that his family is poor and that his father has a lausy job.
Why does Mrs. Wilson offer Boyd clothing? And what does Mrs. Wilson do when Boyd rejects her offer?
because she thinks his family is poor and when he reject her offer she gets mad because she thinks that it will help him is his family get more clothes.
Find examples (there is more than one) in the text where Mrs. Wilson is prejudiced towards Boyd:
“Now eat as much as you want to, Boyd,” she said. “I want to see you get filled up.”
“Well don’t let johnny stop you. He always fusses about eating, so you just see that you get a good lunch. There’s plentuy of food here for you to have all you want.”
Mrs. Wilson tells Boyd, "I'm just disappointed in you." Evaluate the cause of Mrs. Wilson's disappointment.
she gets disappoint at him because she had offered clothes to him and then he rejects it. She just wants to help him, but he dont want help from her, because his family dosen’t need it.

Do you find Mrs. Wilson a racist?
I don’t think she is a racist. Its just because he is black that it seems like she has a lot of prejudice for him.
